Lucca and Tuscan surroundings

lucca

Its ‘Friday: just left the motorway at Lucca Est, I find myself in front of the beautiful walls that surround the city of Lucca; I park near Porta Santa Maria and walk through the streets to reach my favorite restaurant: Osteria Miranda . The owners are three “Lucchesi” ( locals) with an overwhelming sympathy: a smile, a chat and the crazy Tuscan dishes make me forget all the worries of the week right away.

Straight out of Lucca  I proceed towards Abetone, climbing up more and more winding roads until you arrive in the beautiful “Borgo Giusto” a  village of the XVI century restored and reconstructed as a hotel. In this village, where the names of every home come from those who have inhabited from the past, there is also the one that the Great maestro Giacomo Puccini attended as a young man with the owner family: I Giusti. You can stay in the main house or in intimate studios and suites of various sizes, as the house of the painter where there is still the old painting of a craftsman who dabbled in painting, but each house has to be discovered…

Book a massage in the delightful spa and spend the rest of the day by the pool before dinner in the lovely restaurant in the village.
